Marketing and Business Funding for COVID-19 Survival

Empowering SMEs (Issue 066)

Greetings from ESS Small Business – using a coordinated social media campaign and having an awareness of the equity fund raising available for small businesses are the key items for today.

The situation in Victoria has created a significant wake-up alert to businesses all over Australia as well as governments and the general public.

Businesses are going to need to develop strategies which will enable ongoing business operations through very difficult times for the next 1 to 2 years – in fact probably until a suitable vaccine is available to combat COVID-19.

In Wednesday's webinar (15th July 2020) Trent Butler, Trent Butler Consulting Pty Ltd will discuss “7 Steps to Marketing Success in a COVID-19 Environment”.

Trent is a Chartered Accountant but has specialised as a Social Media Consultant advising accounting firms and SMEs on strategies to effectively utilise social media - LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter - to effectively market the business message to 'targeted recipients' based on their individual characteristics, all of which can be determined from an ongoing process of reviewing individual profiles that have been uploaded to the various social media platforms.

Selective, targeted marketing will be a very effective strategy for businesses fighting for market recognition in the challenging times presented by COVID-19.

The second keynote speaker in Wednesday's webinar is Arthur Acker, Operations Manager of Equitise, which is a Sydney and Auckland based Crowd Sourced Funding Intermediary business that assists small businesses and medium-sized enterprises in the process of raising capital by utilising Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising and other capital raising platforms.

Arthur’s presentation “Democratising Investing” will evaluate the types of equity capital which is now available for small businesses and medium-sized enterprises to access without having to go through the formality and significant cost of preparing a Prospectus to present an 'Initial Public Offer' document to raise capital on the Stock Exchange.

Virtually every financial writer in the “Financial Review” over the last 2 months has indicated that there is a very strong expectation that it will be very difficult for SMEs to borrow money from banks from October onwards.  One of the few ways that will be available for businesses to fund their businesses will be to investigate the concept of raising equity capital from the public.

Arthur’s presentation should be a 'must hear' presentation for every business person who has concerns about how they're going to fund their business operations in 2020/21 and beyond.

If you're interested in these very important subjects for small business and medium-sized enterprises, please register now for the free webinar on Wednesday 15th July at 12-noon AEST by clicking here.

In last week’s webinar, Andrew Geddes, who was Chair of Greencross Ltd, a top 200 ASX company for 9 years and is an experienced consultant to a range of businesses all round Australia outlined his recommendations on the steps businesses should be taking now to ensure their business survival in the challenging times ahead.

Anna Guenther, Director, PledgeMe a 'Crowd Sourced Funding Intermediary', Brisbane and Auckland, outlined her experience on the growth of Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising in New Zealand and Australia and outlined how this method of raising funds had been very beneficial to the companies that have undertaken this capital raising process.
